The GSM-R IG was constituted in the year 2000 by a private initiative of the GSM-R industry suppliers. The GSM-R IG is an independent MoU group funded mainly by the members. The main aim of the group is to promote GSM-R technology as a world platform for railways communications. Today, a total of ten companies are represented. All are suppliers of GSM-R sub-systems solutions and are committed to GSM-R railway projects all over the world.
